The adventure begins at the historic town of Stanley Mission, located at Lac La Ronge Provincial Park, accessible by road or air only 80 kilometers from La Ronge, Saskatchewan.

Churchill River Voyageur Lodge is located at Potter Rapids (also known as Drinking Falls).  Our Lund boats and Mercury outboards will ensure a comfortable ride to camp from your pick-up point at Stanley Mission.  This 15 mile trip will provide you with the same breathtaking scenery as seen by voyageurs in the 1700’s when they established the Churchill River as Canada’s fur-trade route.

Your guide from the Churchill River Voyageur Lodge will lead you through the same traditional waterways and portages, used by explorers and local aboriginal communities alike.  You will enjoy wildlife where and when you find it.  You will fish in the same fishing holes as the eagles and pelicans have for centuries.  Your guide will be a professional who has spent his whole life living near or on the Churchill River.

Enjoy the best air, water, and nature you’ve ever had.  Enjoy the Churchill River Voyageur Lodge.

Sight Seeing

Rock Paintings

  • From Stanley Mission it’s just a short ride downstream to view rare rock paintings created centuries ago.

The Holy Trinity Church

  • On your way to the camp, you can stop and see the historic church which was built in the 1800’s.

Nistowiak Falls

  • One of Saskatchewan’s highest waterfalls.

Voyageur Lodge is fully equipped with modern aluminum boats, comfortable seats, and outboard motors.  When you set out from the docks just below the rapids you can look forward to world class Walleye fishing just minutes from home base.

During your trip you can see Aboriginal rock paintings, spectacular sunsets, enjoy wildlife, waterfalls, an old copper mine abandoned years ago, eagles guarding the river and pelicans fishing in the rapids, and air and water as the creator meant it to be.  While others wonder what it was like for explorers to travel along the Churchill, you will live it.  Catch your lunch from the fresh Walleye, Perch, Northern Pile and White Fish.  Keep on the lookout for bear, wolf, and moose coming to the river to drink.  They will provide memories of true nature you can enjoy the rest of your life.
