From Stanley Mission it’s just a short ride downstream to view rare rock paintings created centuries ago by the ancestors of the modern woodland Cree who have lived along this river for generations.
The Holy Trinity Church
On your way to camp, you can stop and see the historic Holy Trinity Church which was built in the 1800’s and is the oldest standing wooden building in Saskatchewan
This section of river hasn’t changed much over the centuries and one of its greatest attractions is Saskatchewan’s highest waterfall, Nistowkiak Falls, where you can stop, visit and take photographs during your time at Voyageur Lodge. An evening tour can be arranged to visit the spectacular Nistowiak Falls. The tour is 10 minutes by boat with a 15 minute hike to the top of the falls. Total tour is approximately 1 hour.
