Churchill River Voyageur Lodge is situated at Potter Rapids, also known as Drinking Falls. Our Lund boats equipped with Mercury outboards provide a smooth and comfortable ride from your pick-up point in Stanley Mission. This 15-mile journey will immerse you in the breathtaking scenery that has captivated travelers since the 1700s when voyageurs first established the Churchill River as Canada’s fur-trade route.
Your experienced guide from Churchill River Voyageur Lodge will lead you through the same traditional waterways and portages used by explorers and local Indigenous communities for generations. As you navigate this stunning landscape, you’ll have the opportunity to encounter wildlife in its natural habitat and fish in the same rich waters as the eagles and pelicans have for centuries. Sightseeing

While others can only imagine the journeys of explorers along the Churchill, you’ll live it firsthand. Catch your lunch with fresh Walleye, Perch, Northern Pike, and Whitefish. Keep an eye out for bears, wolves, and moose as they come to drink at the river. These moments will create lasting memories of true wilderness. Don’t forget your camera!

Rock Paintings
From Stanley Mission, it’s a short ride downstream to see rare rock paintings created centuries ago by the ancestors of the modern Woodland Cree, who have lived along this river for generations.

Holy Trinity Church
On your way to camp, stop by the historic Holy Trinity Church, built in the 1800s. It’s the oldest standing wooden building in Saskatchewan.

Nistowiak Falls
This stretch of the river has remained unchanged for centuries. One of its highlights is Saskatchewan’s highest waterfall, Nistowiak Falls. You can visit and take photos during your stay at Voyageur Lodge. An evening tour to the falls can be arranged, just a 10-minute boat ride followed by a 15-minute hike to the top—totaling about one hour.
